India’s economy is set to grow stronger under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, thanks to moves like the recent GST cut, BJP National President J.P. Nadda said Monday.
Nadda shared these thoughts after chatting with shopkeepers in south Delhi’s Amar Colony. This came on the first day of the new tax rules. He encouraged the shopkeepers to pass on the GST savings to customers and focus on selling only Swadeshi—Indian-made—products.
Joining him was Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva. Speaking to reporters, Nadda noted that the Amar Colony shopkeepers thanked Modi for slashing GST rates. They also pledged to promote Indian products, just as the prime minister urges.
“I want to thank PM Modi and congratulate millions of consumers during Navratri for this GST cut,” Nadda added.
With festive seasons like Dussehra, Bhai Dooj, Dhanteras, Diwali, and Chhath Puja coming up, Nadda highlighted how the lower GST will save shoppers billions of rupees on purchases. He met with vendors at the Ladies Suits Market in Amar Colony, passing along Modi’s push for next-level GST reforms.
The shopkeepers praised Modi’s step and vowed to fully embrace it to help everyday buyers. “I asked them to sell only Swadeshi items—products crafted by India’s hardworking youth, 100% made in India,” Nadda said.
Sachdeva hailed the GST reforms as a huge win from Modi’s government, especially timed for Navratri’s start. “It’s like a big gift to ordinary folks and traders across India and Delhi,” he said.
These changes will lower prices on essentials, letting traders pour more money into their businesses without getting tangled in tax complications. Ahead of the festivals, Sachdeva called it a true “Festival of Savings” for Delhi residents.
The benefits reach everyone—from shop owners and traders to the poor, middle class, young people, farmers, women, and small business owners. Modi’s team already made ‘One Nation, One Tax’ a reality with GST. Now, they’re easing financial pressures just in time for the holiday shopping rush.
Sachdeva urged Delhiites to back local goods and choose Made-in-India items this season. “It will boost our path to a self-reliant India,” he said.
