BJP Leader Hails GST Reforms as Game-Changer for India’s Economy and Jobs
Mumbai, Sep 8: BJP spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam has praised the latest GST reforms by the Central government, calling them a big win for India’s economy. He says these changes will supercharge the trade sector, create fresh job opportunities, and ease the financial load on everyday people.
Islam pointed out that when Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister in 2014, the economy was in bad shape thanks to the previous UPA government’s policies. "There was no growth in sight, total policy paralysis, rampant corruption, and prices shooting through the roof. Tax collection was a messy, non-transparent nightmare," he explained.
But under PM Modi’s leadership, things turned around dramatically. "India’s economy went from one of the world’s five weakest to a spot in the top five global economies. That’s the real success story of the Modi government," Islam added. He highlighted how the new GST reforms put the common man and middle class at the heart of things. Lowering GST rates will not only fuel long-term economic growth but also keep inflation in check, making life easier for everyone.
These GST rate reductions will help people across all states, regardless of who’s in power there. "Every family, from the poor to the middle class, plus big and small entrepreneurs, traders, and business owners—everyone stands to gain big time," Islam emphasized. This boost to the economy through GST reforms could mean more jobs and better affordability for daily needs.
Islam didn’t hold back on criticizing the Congress party either. He slammed them for a cheeky remark linking "Bidi" (a type of cigarette) and "Bihar" just because both start with ‘B’, calling it a low-blow at the GST reforms. "Congress has this nasty habit of dragging politics into everything. Let them play their dirty games— the Modi government will keep focusing on development politics that benefits all sections of society," he said.
On another front, the BJP is confident about the upcoming Vice Presidential election. Party media head Navnath Ban claimed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will sweep it, while the UPA gets totally sidelined. "UPA’s own MPs are tired of Rahul Gandhi’s immature politics, and there’s a real risk of cross-voting. UPA and Rahul Gandhi better watch out—Sanjay Raut should tell him to stay alert," Ban warned.
These developments show how GST reforms are sparking debates on India’s economic growth, job creation, and political battles ahead of key elections.
