Ahmedabad, Nov 26 (LatestNewsX) – In a bid to tighten the electoral roll, Ahmedabad district has already verified more than 70 % of its registered voters through a digital check as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
To make sure no voter is missed, the local authorities are organising special submission camps in every Assembly constituency on November 29 and 30. District Election Officer and Collector Sujit Kumar said the district has 6,259,620 voters on record. So far, 3,861,473 have turned in their enumeration forms, 511,123 have been marked for reasons such as relocation, duplication or death, and live data for 4,390,817 voters has been digitised—about 70.15 % of the total. The basic-level offices and their teams are still out on door‑to‑door drives, chasing the remaining 1,840,341 forms.
To streamline the task, the administration will hold these special camps at central spots in every constituency. They will run Saturday, November 29 from noon to 5 pm, and Sunday, November 30 from 10 am to 5 pm. Voters can bring their completed enumeration forms and any valid documents recognised by the Election Commission of India to the camps, ensuring accurate entry into the register. The Collector has urged everyone eligible to submit their pending paperwork as soon as possible.
The goal of the SIR drive is to produce a pristine, error‑free, transparent roll that underpins our democratic process. Citizens are reminded that keeping the list accurate is a civic duty, and the special camps are an easy way to guarantee their names are listed correctly.
This revision exercise is vital because it guarantees the voter list is up‑to‑date and flaw‑free, enabling every citizen to vote without hindrance. By checking entries, eliminating duplicates or mis‑placed voters, and updating new or corrected details, the SIR bolsters election integrity and preserves a clean, trustworthy roll that is essential for a healthy democracy.
