Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently joined a special Shrimad Bhagwat Katha event in Ahmedabad, sharing how its spiritual vibes pulled him in. Speaking at the gathering in Chanakyapuri on Tuesday, he said the essence of the Bhagwat Katha truly inspired him to attend. For Gujaratis, it’s a huge moment of joy and pride that this Katha supports the Gaushala in Vrindavan, he added.

Patel highlighted how listening to saints’ discourses gives great guidance for stepping up public service. He paid respects at the Vyaspeeth, worshipped the Shrimad Bhagwat scripture, and soaked in the Katha narration.

The event, called Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Saptah Jnanyajna, aimed to benefit Hitashraya Gaushala Vrindavan Dham. Renowned Radhavallabh Sampradayacharya Chandnalalji Vinodlalji Maharaj led the storytelling. It ran from September 10 to 16 at Dahiba Samaj Bhawan Hall in Chanakyapuri.

In other news from Ahmedabad, CM Patel visited the buzzing construction site of the Vishv Umiyadham temple. This grand project got its foundation stone from Prime Minister Narendra Modi back in 2019. Actor Vivek Oberoi tagged along for the visit.

Vivek Oberoi couldn’t hide his excitement while talking to the media. “It’s my good fortune to visit Umiyadham today,” he said. “Umiyadham isn’t just a building or temple—it’s a living heritage of Indian culture. It protects our Sanatan values, religion, and true Indianness for future generations. Temples like this are our greatest treasure, showing the world India’s ancient roots and what makes us who we are.”

During the visit, Patel kicked off the pouring of 9 lakh cubic feet of concrete for the raft on 1551 Dharmastambhs at Vishv Umiya Dham. He also checked the progress on the Maa Umiya Temple construction. This massive raft casting will happen non-stop over three days— that’s a full 72 hours!

Trustees of Vishv Umiya Dham, Vivek Oberoi, donors, workers, and local leaders all joined in the celebrations. Remember, PM Modi laid the foundation on March 4, 2019, at Jaspur in Ahmedabad. Back then, he praised saints and seers for strengthening society, giving us timeless teachings, and the courage to stand against evil and oppression.
