In a big step ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) held its National Convention in New Delhi on September 4. The event brought together party leaders, workers, and officials from across India to plan the party’s strategy for upcoming polls.

The convention was inaugurated by Jitan Ram Manjhi, a senior leader and Union Minister. The gathering was led by party president Santosh Kumar Suman, with proceedings managed by Rajesh Pandey and spokesperson Shyam Sundar Sharan. It was a full-day event with discussions focused on strengthening the party, improving election preparations, and expanding their influence in Bihar and beyond.

During the meeting, the party approved 10 key resolutions. These included condemning the INDIA alliance’s remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother, demanding that every Dalit family gets 5 decimals of land for housing, and pushing for a uniform education system in Bihar. The party also emphasized contesting more seats in the upcoming elections, giving land to landless families, and ensuring that marginalized groups like Dalits and ex-servicemen own agricultural land.

A major focus was also on returning migrant workers to Bihar and helping them settle back home. The convention stressed the importance of social security schemes, such as pensions for senior citizens, and ensuring that welfare programs reach the poorer sections of society.

In his speech, Jitan Ram Manjhi urged party workers to work even harder as only a month remains before the elections. He called for extending postal voting facilities to migrant workers so they can cast their votes even if they are outside Bihar. Manjhi also highlighted recent benefits from reduced GST rates, which he said have helped workers and the poor. He reminded everyone of 34 decisions made during his time as Chief Minister that still need to be implemented.

Manjhi also pointed out that HAM is a significant player within the NDA alliance and urged the party to form booth committees in stronghold areas immediately to secure votes.

Party president Santosh Kumar Suman spoke about government welfare efforts, including a Rs 50,000 crore fund for road work, cash assistance ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 2 lakh for women’s employment, and increased pensions for journalists. He praised the Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme as a good model for the country. Suman asked party workers to stay patient and disciplined, promising that hardworking members will get opportunities to win seats.

As the countdown to Bihar elections begins, HAM leaders are clearly gearing up to make a strong impact and win public support.
