A tragic incident shook Thiruvananthapuram on Monday evening when a 19‑year‑old man from Rajaji Nagar was stabbed to death near the Thycaud temple at about 6 p.m. The victim, named Alan, died after being rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital on a motorcycle.
Eyewitnesses say the attack began after a heated argument among a group of about 30 students. The quarrel started over a game they were playing, but it quickly escalated into violence. Some students in school uniforms were seen in the crowd, and police suspect that people who tried to intervene may have turned into attackers.
Two men have been taken into custody by the Cantonment Police, and more investigations are underway. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and interviewing witnesses to determine exactly what happened. The city’s residents are shocked that such a violent crime could unfold so close to the busy city centre. Authorities will release new details as the probe continues.
