In the scenic town of Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, the Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) kicked off a lively cleanliness drive at the popular Lake View Resort. This effort ties into the nationwide Sewa Pakhwada campaign, running from September 17 to October 2, and supports the Swachh Bharat Mission’s push for a cleaner India.
A mix of BDA staff, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism team members, local hotel owners, tourists, and eager volunteers rolled up their sleeves to tidy up the resort’s surroundings. They also chatted with visitors about the importance of hygiene and keeping spaces spotless, aiming to build better habits for everyone who enjoys Bhaderwah’s natural beauty.
BDA leaders told the group that keeping tourist spots like this one clean not only boosts the fun for visitors but also protects the area’s stunning heritage. They linked the event to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047—a thriving, sustainable India by 2047.
JS Jasrotia, the BDA’s Chief Executive Officer, shared her excitement: “The Sewa Pakhwada initiative has sparked all sorts of activities here, from cleanups to tree-planting drives. At Lake View Resort, we saw our team, hoteliers, tourists, and community folks join forces to spread the word on cleanliness and environmental care.”
She added a warm welcome for travelers: “Bhaderwah is safe and ready for you—every tourist spot is open and buzzing. This season, we’re teaming up with the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department and local authorities to roll out exciting winter sports options, making Bhaderwah an even bigger draw for adventure seekers.”
