Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren hands over appointment letters to 301 assistant teachers

In Ranchi, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren handed over appointment letters to 301 new assistant teachers on Tuesday, marking a big step forward for the state’s education system. This move aims to strengthen government schools and bring them up to speed with private ones.

Out of these 301 hires, 131 are graduate-trained teachers specializing in mathematics and science, while the remaining 170 are intermediate-trained for primary classes from 1 to 5. All of them cleared a tough competitive exam run by the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), ensuring only the best join the ranks.

Speaking at the lively appointment ceremony in the Jharkhand Ministry, Soren shared his vision for better education. “Our government is pushing hard to upgrade school infrastructure, fill empty teaching posts, and deliver top-notch education in every corner of Jharkhand,” he said. He stressed that education tops his administration’s priority list, with thousands of teachers already recruited and plans in motion to hire another 26,000 soon.

Congratulating the fresh faces, Soren reminded them of the real impact they can make. “Parents in Jharkhand sacrifice a lot despite tight budgets to give their kids the best shot at learning. Now it’s on you to teach with full honesty, passion, and commitment, honoring their efforts,” he urged. He pointed out that teachers’ salaries come straight from taxpayers’ pockets, so there’s no room for shortcuts when it comes to building the future of Jharkhand’s children. “The state’s growth hinges on how well we guide the next generation,” Soren added.

On a positive note, the CM highlighted rising trust in public schools. More parents are now switching their kids from pricey private institutions to the CM Utkrishta Vidyalayas, a clear win for improving government school quality in Jharkhand. “This shift shows our efforts are paying off,” he said. Soren also encouraged the new teachers to send in their ideas and feedback to help boost education even further.

The event drew a crowd, including Education Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav, Additional Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Education Secretary Uma Shankar Singh, Project Director Shashi Ranjan, Primary Education Director Manoj Ranjan, plus the excited new teachers and their families. With these appointments, Jharkhand’s push for quality education and teacher recruitment gains fresh momentum.
