J&K L-G Sinha directs security forces to have 360-degree approach to counter terrorism (Lead)

Jammu, Nov 23 (IA NS) – On Sunday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered a comprehensive counter‑terror strategy in the region, urging security forces to target the full spectrum of terrorist support—from financing and drug links to “over‑ground workers” (OGWs) and sympathisers.
He convened a high‑level meeting on Saturday to reassess the security climate in the Jammu division, with key officials in attendance, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, and several senior police and administrative officers.
The L‑G praised the police for their thorough investigations and rapid action in dismantling a pan‑India terror network. “Our 360‑degree approach to counter‑terrorism—massive crackdowns on terror financing, narco‑terror ties, OGWs, and sympathisers—focuses on breaking the entire support system for terrorists,” he said.
“Through coordinated efforts, we will erase the remnants of the terror ecosystem from Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
Sinha urged officials to stay alert to new security threats and reinforced a zero‑tolerance stance against terrorism. He called for decisive action against those who sympathise with terror, OGWs, and elements that seek to radicalise young people.
The meeting also emphasized intelligence‑driven operations against terrorists and closer monitoring of digital platforms used by extremist groups for propaganda and funding.
This review followed the November 10 blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, where an explosive‑laden car killed 15 civilians and wounded 10, an attack linked to a recent crackdown on a white‑collar terror cell in Faridabad conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Police alongside Haryana authorities.
