Aviation Security Boost: CISF Conference at Kochi Airport Focuses on AI and Modern Tech
In Kochi, Kerala, experts gathered at Cochin International Airport for a key zonal-level conference on aviation security. Held on Friday, the event brought together Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) leaders and airport officials to discuss cutting-edge tools like AI surveillance, full-body scanners, and cybersecurity measures. The goal? To make air travel safer and smoother for everyone.
Senior CISF officer Praveer Ranjan, IPS, who chairs the aviation security division, led the meeting. It included top officials like IG/APS-II, DIG/APSZ, and senior reps from Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) and other major airports across the zone.
CISF shared details on X, highlighting how the team reviewed aviation security operations in today’s fast-changing world. "We focused on AI-driven surveillance, full-body scanners, intrusion detection systems, and strong cybersecurity," the post noted. CISF reaffirmed its dedication to secure and seamless air travel, ensuring passengers fly worry-free.
This conference comes amid CISF’s ongoing efforts to upgrade airport safety. Just weeks ago, on August 31, the force rolled out exciting welfare initiatives for its personnel and families. These include low-interest loans, better scholarships for kids, enhanced medical support, and more benefits for retirees—all funded through smart internal adjustments, without extra costs.
The new perks aim to cut financial stress and speed up services. After chatting with force members at Sainik Sammelans, CISF made these changes based on real feedback.
Key highlights:
- Personal loan interest rates dropped from up to 6% to just 3% for all categories.
- Medical treatment loans now at a super-low 2% interest.
- Loan limits for things like home loans and marriages hiked from Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 5 lakhs.
- Repayment time extended from 3 years to 5 years, giving more breathing room.
These steps show CISF’s commitment not just to national security but also to supporting its hardworking team. As air travel booms in India, expect even stronger aviation security protocols at airports like Kochi.
