Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Tarun Chugh slammed the INDI alliance this Friday, calling it a group of “promise‑breakers” and “kings of lying.” His remarks followed RJD chief Tejashwi Yadav’s pledge to offer a government‑job guarantee in Bihar if his party wins the upcoming assembly elections.
Chugh criticized the INDI parties for bragging about jobs while they continue “jungle‑raaj” in the state. He pointed out that the same word used by the alliance – “development” – has already been delivered by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
“We’ve seen the NDA bring a Rs 62,000 crore package to the youth and give self‑employment to 75 lakh women in just one month,” Chugh told at an event in New Delhi. “Bihar has moved forward, not during the era of Congress or Lalu Yadav, but under Modi and Nitish.”
Tejashwi Yadav, speaking on October 9 in Patna, promised that within 20 days of forming the Mahagathbandhan government, Bihar would pass a law ensuring a government job for every household. He also said that by 20 months after the government takes office, every family lacking a government job would have at least one member employed.
Yadav highlighted that his 17‑month RJD tenure created 500,000 government jobs. He criticized opponents for mocking unemployment while the state offered allowances to the unemployed.
The BJP’s criticism comes ahead of the Bihar assembly polls, with voters weighing promises of employment and development. Chugh’s comments underscore the BJP’s claim that the NDA, not the INDI alliance, has delivered real progress in Bihar.
