In Leh, Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta led a key meeting on Wednesday to check the latest on law and order in the Union Territory. He gathered top officials, including Chief Secretary Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police SD Singh Jamwal, and Deputy Commissioner Leh, along with security leaders like DIG Srinagar South PK Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police Leh Sanjay Kumar.
The team updated Gupta on the current security situation and the steps they’re taking to keep peace and stability strong in Ladakh. Gupta praised the security forces and local administration for their hard work in bringing back normal life over the past week, despite tough challenges.
He also thanked Ladakh’s residents for their patience and support during this time. During the discussion on welfare efforts, Gupta asked about the injured people still getting treatment at the government hospital. He ordered officials and hospital staff to give them top-notch medical care right away.
For anyone needing advanced treatment outside the region, Gupta told the Deputy Commissioner to step in with full humanitarian help and financial aid. “No one should suffer or feel left out,” he stressed.
Gupta urged everyone in Ladakh to ignore rumors and fake news spreading around. He promised that the administration and security teams will protect peace and harmony no matter what. Restrictions put in place for safety will ease up step by step as things settle down fully.
“Peace and development top our list,” Gupta said. With the community’s cooperation, Ladakh keeps moving forward on its path to progress.
