Land grabbing case: Family firm of Telangana minister booked

Hyderabad, Dec 4 (LatestNewsX) – Police have booked a firm tied to Telangana’s Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s family after an alleged attempt to seize land worth roughly ₹300 crore on the city’s outskirts. Raghava Constructions, run by his son Harsha Reddy, was named in a First Information Report filed at Gachibowli police station under the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

According to the complaint, a group of masked men stormed a parcel in Vattinagulapally village, Ranga Reddy district, late on the night of November 30. Roughly 70 men, using JCB machines, allegedly took over the property, tore down its perimeter wall and assaulted the landowner who tried to stop them. The complainant, Pallavi Shah, says a ‘Goshala’ on the site was also destroyed.

Shah reports her staff warned her that four JCBs and about 70 masked people entered the land, and that masked men attacked her employees—Shiv Charan, Srinu and Dharampal—before unlawfully detaining them. She added that despite court-issued injunctions in pending civil cases, the intruders went ahead, demolished the cowshed, damaged the fields, and ruined a security guard’s tent and equipment. In her claim she named Sudhir Shah, Avinav Shah, Akshay Shah and Amrit Shah of New Gen Builders.

The FIR now lists the individuals, Prashanth and others, together with New Gen Builders and Raghava Constructions. Charges have been filed under Sections 329(3), 118(1), 324(4), 304(2), 127(2) and 351(2) r/w 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Minister Srinivas Reddy has dismissed the allegations as baseless, insisting that his company had no role in the dispute between the two parties. ms/svn
