Bihar Deputy CM Slams Congress and DMK Over Insulting Remarks on Bihar
Patna, Bihar: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary fired back at the Mahagathbandhan alliance on Wednesday, accusing the Congress and DMK of nothing but abusing Bihar’s people. He hit out hard after recent controversial comments from both parties, calling their tactics a low blow against the state.
Talking to , Chaudhary didn’t hold back on the Congress. "Congress’s real introduction is insulting people," he said sharply. This came right after the Bihar Congress unit shared a viral AI-generated video on X (formerly Twitter). In the clip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears in a dream where his late mother, Heeraben Modi, scolds him over his political moves. The video has sparked a huge online buzz, but Chaudhary sees it as just another insult from the opposition.
Chaudhary also targeted DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Minister Durai Murugan for his remarks on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. "Mahagathbandhan folks can only hurl abuses at Bihar’s people," the Deputy CM declared. Murugan’s comments, made on Thursday in Vellore, dismissed the idea of implementing SIR in Tamil Nadu. He said outright, "Tamil Nadu is not Bihar."
The minister stressed that Tamil Nadu’s people are politically sharp and won’t fall for any tricks. "Here, we have strong governance and leadership from Thalapathy Vijay—nothing like Bihar. Such moves won’t work on us or our leader," Murugan told reporters. His words were a direct jab at Bihar while responding to talks about the nationwide SIR of electoral rolls.
This row ties into the Election Commission’s big push for cleaner voter lists. On Wednesday, the EC hosted a key conference for Chief Electoral Officers from all states and Union Territories. They reviewed preparations for the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to update electoral rolls accurately. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar kicked off the event, joined by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi. This marks the third such meeting this year, showing the EC’s focus on fair elections ahead.
As political tensions heat up in Bihar and beyond, these exchanges highlight the growing divide over election reforms and state pride. Stay tuned for more updates on Bihar politics and Election Commission news.
