He explained how the playback singer’s voice first captured his heart back in the mid-1970s and late 1970s. “I used to tune into the radio, and almost every song or movie featured Kishore Kumar,” Shaan told . “His voice was everywhere – and honestly, it still is today. That’s when I fell in love with his singing.”
Shaan didn’t just enjoy the tunes; they taught him big life lessons. He pointed to inspirational Kishore Kumar hits like “Zindagi Ek Safar Hai Suhana,” “Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane,” and “Yeh Jeevan Hai.” “Through his songs, I learned so much about life,” he said. “The lyrics came from other writers, but when Kishore Kumar sang them, it felt like he was speaking directly to me. Those words guide my philosophy even now.”
What really inspired Shaan as a singer was Kishore Kumar’s simple, relatable approach. “He sang with this boy-next-door charm – no fancy show-off techniques, just pure emotion,” Shaan added. “That simplicity drew me in and became my own style when I started singing.”
