Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma unveiled the Annual Report 2024-25 for the Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee on Wednesday. The event took place at the CM Conference Hall in Aizawl, turning the detailed oversight of state projects into an easy-to-read book format.
Lalduhoma praised the committee’s hard work, calling their efforts “highly commendable.” He highlighted how the group ensures transparency and accountability in Mizoram’s development projects. Made up of representatives from community organizations and registered parties across the state, the committee acts as a people’s watchdog for monitoring progress on key initiatives.
“We are working for the betterment of our state, and the progress so far is truly commendable,” Lalduhoma told the members. “Stay committed—don’t get discouraged, and don’t fear anyone, even those in the ruling party. The government has your back.”
Er. Lalthanzuala Ralte, the committee’s member secretary, walked attendees through the report. He noted that the team compiles details on monitored projects using a standard Work Profile format from the Planning Department. Their process includes on-site visits to check execution, quality, resource use, spending, and any hurdles. They document everything thoroughly and hold talks with departments, agencies, and contractors before and after visits to boost accountability.
In the 2024-25 financial year, the committee kept tabs on 47 projects, with 42 of them covered in this annual report. These span several vital sectors: eight in social services, ten in education, eight in health, seven in communication like roads and bridges, one in veterinary services, one in fisheries, five in sports, one in public health, and one in agriculture.
Lalduhoma wrapped up by stressing the government’s dedication to accountability, transparency, and people-focused growth. Through the ongoing efforts of the Project Monitoring Committee, Mizoram aims to build a stronger future for its residents.
