On Wednesday in Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reviewed the Public Works Department’s performance over the past two years and urged the PWD to make the ‘Lokpath App’ even more useful. The app, which launched in July 2024, lets people report road problems in real time and has already collected 12,212 complaints, 12,166 of which have been resolved – a 99.6 % success rate.
In its upgraded version the app will go beyond black‑spot alerts, offering information on inter‑site distances, alternate routes, tourist spots, medical facilities, toll rates and more, making it a handy tool for both residents and visitors. Users can simply snap a photo of a pothole or road damage, and the report is routed straight to the officer in charge.
The CM also instructed that the department be involved in drafting an integrated urban development policy with city bodies and that national and state highways receive proper green landscaping and safety markers. “Our goal is to treat every construction project as a way to improve people’s quality of life and to finish each project on schedule,” he said. The meeting was chaired by PWD Minister Rakesh Singh, with senior officials including Chief Secretary Anurag Jain in attendance.
