Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, shared inspiring thoughts on how young entrepreneurs can drive India’s “second freedom struggle” during a recent event in Ahmedabad. Speaking at the fourth edition of Adani Green Talks on September 25, he described this fight as a push for freedom in technology and social innovation—one that lifts communities, closes gaps, and bolsters democracy.
Adani urged the audience to join this movement toward “freedom from inequality, freedom from inertia, and freedom from indifference.” He explained that Adani Green Talks celebrates bold dreams, showing how fresh ideas spark real change. “Growth isn’t straightforward—it’s often unexpected and hidden,” Adani said. He used the image of a green shoot breaking through soil to represent hope and new beginnings, like the dreams that shape history.
Over the past three editions of Adani Green Talks, organizers have reviewed hundreds of ideas from startups. Fifteen standout companies took the stage to share their visions. In a tough world where nine out of ten startups fail, Adani praised how many participants have already overcome the challenges.
Drawing from his own experience as an entrepreneur, Adani highlighted the power of dreaming big. “Dreamers leave lasting marks on history,” he noted. But he saved special admiration for social entrepreneurs. “They don’t chase riches—they work to build a better society,” he added.
Looking ahead, Adani wants Adani Green Talks to evolve into more than just an event. He envisions it as a vibrant hub for collaboration, where India’s innovative spirit meets global creativity. This platform would bring social startups together to drive positive change, create unity, and focus on shared goals like sustainability and humanity’s progress. “It’s about growing with goodness and leaving a brighter, more sustainable world,” Adani emphasized.
