NDA leaders condemn abusive remarks on PM Modi’s mother, call Bihar bandh tomorrow

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has called for a Bihar Bandh on September 4, protesting against what they describe as disrespectful and abusive comments made about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother during a Congress-led rally. Leaders from the NDA strongly condemned the remarks, considering them an insult not only to the Prime Minister’s family but to all mothers in India.

Bihar BJP President Dilip Kumar Jaiswal announced the strike, saying, “During the Congress-led ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ offensive language was used against Prime Minister Modi’s mother. This is unacceptable and goes against political etiquette. We are calling for a Bihar Bandh from 7 a.m. to 12 noon tomorrow as a stand against this insult.”

He added, “If Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav only realize the seriousness of this after we demand action, then that’s a big mistake. They need to understand the gravity of such comments. Only self-awareness can help them realize their mistake.”

Other BJP leaders also condemned the remarks. Former Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi said, “This isn’t just about the Prime Minister’s mother; it’s about every mother in India. She worked hard to raise her family, and such language is completely unacceptable. We will not tolerate this insult, which is why we’ve called for a Bihar Bandh till noon tomorrow.”

BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal emotionally emphasized the importance of respecting mothers, saying, “When someone’s mother is insulted, it hurts deeply. PM Modi was very close to his mother and often talks about her sacrifices. Those who insulted her should feel ashamed of their words.”

Shaina NC, a leader of Shiv Sena, criticized the Congress and RJD for allowing such language during their rally. She said, “This attack on the Prime Minister’s mother is an insult to every mother in India. In Darbhanga, Bihar, the Congress and RJD have crossed all limits. What they call a ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ is actually a ‘Vote Anyay Yatra’—a journey of injustice and disrespect. They spread false stories, attacked women, and disrespected Indian culture and its mothers.”

The Bihar Bandh, supported by all NDA parties, will be observed from 7 a.m. to noon on September 4. Essential services like hospitals, emergency responses, and transportation are expected to continue normally. BJP’s women and youth leaders are expected to lead protests across the state.

This incident has heightened political tensions in Bihar as the state prepares for the upcoming Assembly elections. The controversy continues to stir emotions and debate across the region.
