Patna, Nov 13 – Union Minister Giriraj Singh told reporters that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to win Bihar’s assembly election by a record margin.
Voting will open on Nov 14 at 8 a.m., and the final tally should be available by afternoon. “We won 206 seats in 2010, and this time we will win even more,” Singh said confidently. He added that voters in Bihar have once again shown faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, choosing a government that promises continued development and stability.
The 2010 Bihar polls saw the Nitish‑led JD(U)–BJP alliance dominate, capturing 206 seats—115 for JD(U) and 91 for BJP. This year, both parties contested 101 seats each, while the rest were assigned to alliance partners. Singh pledged that the NDA’s performance would surpass the 2010 triumph, arguing that voters have “rejected chaos and misrule” and opted for focused governance.
Bollywood actress Neha Sharma weighed in on the exit‑poll trend that foresees an NDA victory. She urged people to wait for the official results. “I have no faith in exit polls,” Sharma said. “Just wait for tomorrow’s results and everything will be clear. Bihar’s voters have decided who will lead.”
She praised the high voter turnout and the growing participation of women, noting that citizens are increasingly aware of their voting rights. “People are beginning to understand their rights. This is a great joy,” she added.
Sharma, the daughter of Congress MLA Ajit Sharma from Bhagalpur, returned from Mumbai to support her father’s campaign. She joined him on multiple roadshows and called on voters to back him, while the overall focus remains on the upcoming vote that could change Bihar’s political landscape.
