Madhya Pradesh Governor Highlights NEP’s Boost for Youth Careers at Barkatullah University Convocation
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel shared exciting news about the National Education Policy (NEP) during the convocation ceremony at Barkatullah University. He said the NEP opens up plenty of opportunities for young people at every education level, matching their skills, interests, and talents. This makes education more personalized and future-ready for Indian students.
Governor Patel, who also serves as the Chancellor of the state’s biggest university, stressed how universities play a key role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a digital and developed India. He pointed out that they must introduce job-oriented courses and skill training to prepare the new generation for success. "Today, career options are booming in areas like agriculture, food technology, physical education, cyber-security, forensic science, drone technology, and law," he told the gathering of students and teachers.
Speaking at the event held at Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre, the Governor urged students to always thank their parents and teachers. He reminded them to stick to the convocation oath throughout their lives. Patel personally awarded degrees and gold medals to the graduates and congratulated them warmly. "This isn’t just about getting a degree—it’s the fruit of your hard work, discipline, and the guidance from your teachers over the years," he added.
The Governor also praised Barkatullah University for earning an ‘A’ grade from NAAC for its strong focus on education, research, and innovation. It’s the only university in Madhya Pradesh to make it to the Global World University Rankings, a big achievement for higher education in the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav joined the Governor for the inaugural session and addressed the crowd. He highlighted how Madhya Pradesh promotes all Indian languages through its studies and education programs. "We’ve given Vice-Chancellors the traditional title of ‘Kulguru’, just like Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi," Yadav said. He added that universities in the state now offer innovative, employment-focused courses to build a skilled workforce.
Under PM Modi’s guidance, Yadav noted, Indians are making their mark globally with their own talents. "We’re fixing old mistakes by holding convocations in line with Indian traditions. Madhya Pradesh led the way as the first state to roll out the National Education Policy back in 2020," he shared.
This convocation shows Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to transforming education through NEP, creating more job opportunities and global recognition for its youth.
