Nitish Kumar Lauds PM Modi’s Support for Bihar at Rs 40,000 Crore Project Launch
In Patna, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar gave a big thumbs up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. He said the central government under Modi’s leadership has done so much for Bihar that it hardly needs any explanation.
Kumar spoke at a lively public rally alongside the PM during the inauguration of massive projects worth Rs 40,000 crore. These include the shiny new Purnea airport and developments in railways, electricity, and more.
"Today, Prime Minister, you’re kicking off 12 big projects in sectors like railways, power, airports, and others," Kumar said. "You’ve given Bihar so much—there’s no need to list it all out." To show appreciation, he even called on the women in the crowd to stand up, clap, and give the PM a warm welcome for his contributions to Bihar’s growth.
Kumar didn’t shy away from comparing the current progress with the past. "Before our government took charge on November 24, 2005, Bihar had nothing. The earlier regime achieved zero," he pointed out. "Once we stepped in, we kept the work going non-stop. Sure, there were some hiccups in between because of certain leaders—one of them is even here today," he added with a subtle dig, without naming names.
Now, Kumar assured everyone, things are on track with no more disruptions. Bihar is charging ahead with inclusive development that benefits all.
He highlighted key wins under his Bihar government. On power supply, he said: "Back then, Bihar had no electricity at all. We lit up every home, and now we’ve made it free for everyone."
Kumar also boasted about social security schemes. Pensions for the elderly, disabled, and widows have gone up, ensuring better support for vulnerable groups.
When it comes to jobs, the CM promised big. "We aimed for 20 lakh jobs, but we’ve already hired 39 lakh people. By the time elections roll around, we’ll hit 50 lakh," he declared confidently.
These comments from Nitish Kumar highlight the strong teamwork between his Bihar government and the Centre. They’re focusing on boosting infrastructure, welfare programs, and job creation in Bihar. It also sends a clear message of unity in the NDA alliance as elections approach.
