Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar kicked off a wave of development on Wednesday by inaugurating and laying foundation stones for projects totaling Rs 1,911 crore in Kaimur and Rohtas districts. He promised these Bihar infrastructure projects will spark a fresh era of growth, better roads, and stronger social progress for locals.

The day started with a big event at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel College in Bhabua, Kaimur district. There, Nitish Kumar launched 178 key initiatives worth Rs 980.15 crore. He laid the groundwork for 51 projects costing Rs 854.66 crore and officially opened 127 others at Rs 125.49 crore.

Standout projects include the massive Zamania–Kakrait Ganga Water Lift Irrigation Scheme, priced at Rs 528.44 crore, to boost farming in the area. He also greenlit the widening of the Kudra–Chenari–Malhipur road for Rs 147 crore and the Rehal–Chaurasan temple road passing by Rohtasgarh Fort at Rs 66.89 crore. On top of that, the lineup features new roads, degree colleges, playgrounds, and more than 175 other builds worth over Rs 239 crore to improve daily life in Kaimur.

Later, Nitish Kumar headed to Sasaram, the heart of Rohtas district, where he unveiled and started projects valued at Rs 931 crore on the School Education Project campus. These cover electricity upgrades, urban development pushes, and wider canal paths—ideas he first floated during his earlier Pragati Yatra tour.

Throughout the visits, the chief minister chatted with everyday folks, including pension recipients, Jeevika Didis from self-help groups, electricity users, and local workers. He urged officials to quickly fix their concerns and make things right.

At a lively workers’ meetup in Sasaram’s Fazalganj New Stadium, Nitish Kumar took a jab at the Lalu Prasad Yadav family. “Back then, only women from one family got the spotlight,” he said. “But since we took charge, we’re lifting up women from all walks of life in Bihar.” He also spotlighted his government’s fencing drive, explaining how past leaders stuck to protecting just graveyards. Now, his team fences temples and graveyards over seven years old to foster peace and communal harmony across communities.

Nitish Kumar wrapped up by stressing how these Kaimur and Rohtas district projects will lift living standards, connect far-flung areas better, and steer Bihar’s regional development in a positive direction.
