In a big step towards development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday laid the foundation stone and officially started work on 27 important projects in Saran district. These projects are worth over Rs 1200 crore and are part of his promise made during the Pragati Yatra campaign.
The projects focus on better infrastructure and electricity. They include building a new Grid Substation in Chhapra, installing a 132 KV transmission line, and strengthening the electricity supply with re-conductor work. Roads are also getting a boost with the development of the Ekma-Mashrakh Path and parts of NH-19 from Chhapra.
Additionally, the government is upgrading roads by upgrading Ekma to Dumaigarh Path and Khaira Bin Tolia Path. New widened roads and five line ‘bays’ at key substations in Ekma, Sheetalpur, and Mashrakh are also part of these plans. All of these improvements aim to make travel easier and improve power supply for residents of Saran.
Nitish Kumar highlighted that his team moved quickly, approving and starting work on all these projects right after the announcement during his Pragati Yatra. “We approved everything in record time and started construction. Our government is committed to fulfilling all its promises,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister attended a community dialogue event at Ratanpur Bintoliya. There, he met with people benefiting from social security pensions, women members of self-help groups called Jeevika Didis, electricity consumers, and other welfare scheme beneficiaries.
Significant welfare decisions were announced during this event. The Social Security Pension Scheme benefit increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1100. Plus, now all domestic electricity consumers receive 125 units of free electricity each month.
Many new initiatives were introduced to empower women involved in self-help groups, Jeevika Didis. People at the event shared their happiness and appreciation for these government efforts.
Nitish Kumar also took time to listen to local workers’ problems and suggestions. He instructed officials to act quickly to address their issues. “Our goal is to ensure families get the benefits they deserve. We will act fast on their concerns,” he assured.
These developments show Bihar’s continuing efforts to improve infrastructure, power, and welfare for all its residents.
