‘Not time for blame game’: Shivakumar on Red Fort blast

Bengaluru, November 11 – Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar urged calm and action after the car bomb at Delhi’s Red Fort. He said the country’s security system slipped and that people must step up to keep the nation safe.

Shivakumar told reporters that the attack could not have happened if the government had woken up after previous incidents. “Blame does not solve anything,” he said. “Only protecting people and taking responsibility matters.” He added that his state’s Home Minister is working closely with security forces and has ordered extra patrols in the capital.

The Deputy CM also called on the centre to launch a thorough probe and bring the perpetrators to justice. He said the Congress party has strongly condemned the blast and demands a full investigation.

In a separate speech, Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre expressed solidarity with the families who lost loved ones. Khandre asked the Union government, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, to explain how the blast happened and why security gaps were missed. He demanded immediate arrests and a clear answer to the public.

Khandre criticised what he called “collapses in law and order” and warned that without a rule‑based response, more attacks could follow. He reminded India that it remains a democracy, not an autocratic state, and urged the central authorities to act transparently.
