Nishikant Dubey on Rahul’s dance jibe at PM Modi: Gandhi family didn’t instil good values in him

In Bhagalpur, Bihar, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey slammed Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi after the former made a “dance” jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dubey said Rahul’s remarks showed a lack of respect for Indian civilisation and culture, claiming the Gandhi family failed to instill good values in him.

Last week, Rahul blasted Modi for “doing anything for votes,” even joking that if asked to dance for votes, Modi would take the stage. A few days later, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi joined a traditional dance performed by Tharu tibeswomen in West Champaran, a poll‑bound region of Bihar. Dubey praised Priyanka’s participation, but criticised Rahul’s comments as “indecent and opinionated.”

He noted that Rahul’s parents were once seen dancing in the Northeast and asked if they did it for votes, questioning the family’s moral guidance. Dubey questioned whether Rahul’s remarks reflect a deeper disregard for Indian culture.

The BJP has filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI), claiming Rahul’s “Bharatnatyam on stage for votes” comment violates the Model Code of Conduct and disrespects the Prime Minister’s office. The party urges the poll body to take swift action against the statement.
