Patna, Dec 9 (LatestNewsX) – A speed‑rushed bus collided head‑on with a three‑wheeler in Vaishali district, killing a passenger and leaving eight others seriously hurt. The crash took place near Kanchanpur Dhanushi village, under the jurisdiction of Lalganj police station.
An official explained that the bus was traveling from Lalganj to Hajipur while the three‑wheeler was en route in the opposite direction. “The impact was so severe that the three‑wheeler was completely mangled. All nine passengers on board sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to Sadar Hospital in Hajipur, where one of them succumbed during treatment,” an official said.
After the incident, the Vaishali SP and District Magistrate went to the hospital to urge the medical team to give priority to the injured patients. Officials said both vehicles were speeding and that low visibility had contributed to the crash. Authorities are working to identify the deceased, while police are collecting statements from the injured passengers in order to inform their families.
An FIR has been lodged against the bus driver; he has been taken into custody and the vehicle seized. The tragedy has reignited fears over road safety and traffic management in Bihar.
Just two days earlier, on December 7, a runaway car swept through Gola Road in the upscale area overseen by Danapur police station, catching six pedestrians in its path. Seventy-year‑old Chansi Rai died from his injuries, and five other people were critically wounded and transferred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). The accident occurred near Jhakri Mahadev Temple, and unsettling CCTV footage has since surfaced. The footage shows three young men and a dog on the roadside before the speeding car struck the dog and then the four people in a single run. Onlookers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver kept moving, crushing two more people to death. ajk/svn
