The defence chief, Rajnath Singh, told Indian Army commanders in Jaisalmer that India’s “Operation Sindoor” has delivered a strong signal to Pakistan – a reminder that any attempt to stir trouble will face a swift response.
During the first commanders’ conference since the launch of Operation Sindoor, Singh said Pakistan should think twice before misbehaving. “If Pakistan tries anything wrong, it must know exactly what will happen,” he added, noting that the operation is still active, though temporarily on hold.
He recalled a story from the Ramayana, explaining that while Indian pilots were testing wind conditions, they quickly struck their targets. “When our pilots finally act, it will be clear what Pakistan has to face,” he said, stressing that enemies both outside and inside India must be kept in check.
The defence minister also highlighted plans to boost infrastructure and develop border areas, saying that growth will benefit local communities. “Guard the border and build a developed India – that’s the path to Viksit Bharat @2047,” he said.
This is part of a three‑day visit. The conference brought together the army chief and senior commanders to discuss western frontier security, modern warfare tactics, and tech upgrades. Talks will also review the army’s “Year of Reforms” and the progress of global‑standardisation initiatives.
On the second day, Rajnath will visit the Longewala border outpost to pay tribute to soldiers who died in the 1971 Indo‑Pak war.
