Patel as PM would’ve prevented Pakistan, Article 370: Rajasthan Minister

In Jaipur on 24 November, Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena told reporters that if Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had taken the helm instead of Jawaharlal Nehru, the country would have stayed undivided, with no Pakistan and no Article 370. He blamed Nehru’s decisions for the loss of Kashmir to Pakistan and claimed Patel would have kept the nation whole. Speaking at the launch of the Jago Jago Ekta Padyatra in Ramganj Mandi as part of Sardar Patel’s 150th birthday, Meena recalled BJP founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee—who quit Nehru’s cabinet over Article 370—then credited Prime Minister Modi for finally abolishing the article and restoring real freedom and democracy to Kashmir. He stressed that the BJP came to power to serve the people rather than for political ambition, insisting that the nation comes first “above caste, party, and everything else.” Meena also criticized Lord of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi for making “irresponsible” remarks, even concerning the army, and noted that Congress had failed to honor war heroes, such as a 1962 soldier now commemorated in Bhilwara. Regarding national security, he said any act against Pakistan would fall under Modi’s purview and that over his 11‑year tenure no major terrorist attacks have occurred; the recent Red Fort incident had shocked the country, but Modi would seek justice for the culprits, no matter where they hide. He accused Congress of strangling democracy during the Emergency under Indira Gandhi, pointing out that those who once silenced the press now claim democracy is under threat. Meena warned that Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes may be misled by false narratives that Modi would abolish the Constitution, pointing out that Nehru was “the biggest opponent of Ambedkar.” He added that the BJP follows the principle of Antyodaya to uplift the poor. On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda, Dilawar described Munda as a revolutionary who terrified the British, noting that “poisoning him at the age of 25 only proves his greatness.”
