In New Delhi on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to wish Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda a happy birthday. He praised Nadda’s role in fortifying the BJP and highlighted the country’s progress across health, chemicals, and fertiliser sectors under the minister’s leadership.
“Best wishes to J.P. Nadda on his birthday. He is widely respected for his humble and affable personality. He is known for his organisational skills and passion towards good governance. His role in making the BJP stronger is laudatory. Equally noteworthy are his efforts to improve India’s health infrastructure as well as our strides in the chemicals and fertilisers sector. May God bless him with a long and healthy life.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also sent his best wishes, echoing the sentiment that Nadda is working hard to fulfil Prime Minister Modi’s vision of affordable, quality healthcare for everyone. He added a prayer for Nadda’s continued health and longevity.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted a message of congratulations, commending Nadda’s dedication to national interests and his spirit of service, which he says inspires party workers.

Your dedication to the nation’s interest, karma yoga, and spirit of service serve as invaluable inspiration for all party workers. Born on 2 December 1960 in Patna, with family ties to Himachal Pradesh, Nadda entered politics after being elected to the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Bilaspur in 1993. He reclaimed a seat in the assembly in 1998 and later served as Health Minister in the state’s BJP cabinet.
In 2010 he became National General Secretary of the BJP, and two years later he entered the Rajya Sabha for the first time. Between 2014 and 2019, he headed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He was appointed the party’s National Working President in June 2019 and took over as National President in January 2020.
