Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in honoring Sree Narayana Guru on his birth anniversary, celebrating the social reformer’s lasting impact on India’s social and spiritual life. In a heartfelt post on X, Modi highlighted Guru’s vision of equality, compassion, and universal brotherhood. “His teachings continue to inspire generations toward social reform and better education,” Modi wrote, urging everyone to reflect on these timeless values.

Home Minister Amit Shah also paid glowing tributes to the revered saint and philosopher. On X, Shah remembered Guru’s lifelong fight against social evils and his efforts to uplift the marginalized. “His message of compassion, equality, and knowledge guides India toward a fair and harmonious society,” Shah said, emphasizing Guru’s role in building a stronger Bharat.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi joined the remembrances, calling Guru a fearless social reformer who challenged discrimination. “His work for a just, equal, and inclusive society strengthens our resolve for social justice,” Gandhi posted on social media, inspiring followers to carry forward this legacy.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress General Secretary, added her voice, paying sincere homage to the Kerala-born spiritual leader. “Guru’s teachings on equality, justice, and compassion push us toward a more progressive society,” she shared, connecting his ideals to today’s world.

In a special announcement from Karnataka, Pranavanand Swami of Narayana Guru Shakti Peeth revealed that 18 notable figures will receive the prestigious Brahmashree Narayana Guru Award. These honorees come from diverse fields like social work, education, health, agriculture, literature, art, music, theatre, and sports, recognizing their contributions to society.

This year’s celebrations gain extra importance as they mark the 100th anniversary of the iconic 1925 meeting between Mahatma Gandhi and Sree Narayana Guru at Sivagiri Mutt in Kerala. That historic encounter stands as a key milestone in India’s social reform movement, blending spiritual wisdom with the fight for equality.

Across Kerala and other parts of India, events, processions, and special prayers brought communities together. Followers echoed Guru’s powerful call for “One Caste, One Religion, One God for Humanity,” promoting unity and harmony.

Born in 1856 and passing in 1928, Sree Narayana Guru transformed Kerala and beyond through his tireless work against caste barriers. He promoted social harmony, championed education for empowerment, and taught that true spirituality means serving humanity. His famous words against discrimination and inequality still echo strongly today, motivating social reformers everywhere.
