Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Ayodhya at about 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday for a flag‑raising at the newly finished Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Locals say the sight of the flag being hoisted will finally bring to life a dream that has lingered for generations.
The flag itself is a custom‑made piece that is 22 feet long and 11 feet wide, crafted by a parachuting expert from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It weighs between two and three kilograms and was engineered to fit the 161‑foot‑high temple summit and the 42‑foot flagpole. Its design features the Sun, a symbol of Lord Rama’s Suryavanshi lineage and divine power.
Attendees of the ceremony will not be allowed to bring mobile phones inside the temple complex. Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, confirmed that the flag will be hoisted on the temple’s roof. He also confirmed that the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, the Uttar Pradesh Governor, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be among those present for the event. About 7,000 people, including thousands of saints from eastern Uttar Pradesh, are expected to attend.
Gopal Rao, a special invitee of the Trust, explained that a havan has been taking place in the Yagna Mandap for four days in preparation for the flag‑hoisting. Roughly one hundred priests have been performing the ritual, while around thirty people have taken part in various customs at different sites.
For many residents, November 25 will be remembered as a powerful day of pride for followers of Sanatan Dharma worldwide. The building of the Ram Temple is seen not merely as a religious achievement but also as a significant milestone for India’s cultural heritage. Speaking to LatestNewsX, local resident Gyanprakash Dubey said that the event is “a major moment” for Sanatan Dharma adherents across the globe, adding that as long as the Ram Temple stands, the name of Prime Minister Modi “will remain immortal” alongside it.
