Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu this Wednesday, with a packed agenda that highlights faith, farming and finance.
He starts the day in Puttaparthi, the hometown of spiritual leader Sri Sathya Sai Baba. At about 10 am he will visit the shrine and Mahasamadhi of the late guru to offer his respects. The next half‑hour is set for the guru’s birth‑centenary celebration, where Modi will speak to the crowd and roll out a special commemorative coin and a set of stamps that honour the sage’s life and teachings.
After the ceremony, Modi will head to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. There he will open the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025, scheduled to run 19 – 21 November. The summit, organised by the Tamil Nadu Natural Farming Stakeholders Forum, aims to promote sustainable, eco‑friendly farming that cuts out chemicals and boosts climate‑smart practices. The event will bring together more than 50,000 farmers, scientists, suppliers, and entrepreneurs from seven states, highlighting innovations in organic inputs, agro‑processing and local technology.
During the summit at around 1:30 pm, Modi will announce the 21st instalment of the PM‑KISAN scheme, a farmer‑support program that will inject over ₹18 000 crore into the country’s agriculture sector. The new funds will help 9 crore farmers get higher incomes and safer, greener ways of growing food.
The two‑day trip underscores Modi’s focus on rural growth and spirituality. While he honors a revered religious figure in Puttaparthi, he will also lead a national push toward natural farming and give a fresh boost to farming income. His move comes at a time when India is looking to turn to sustainable agriculture as a way to protect the environment and improve livelihoods for millions of rural families.
