Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Dekho Apna Desh” vision, transforming Shivrajpur Beach illustrates Gujarat’s forward‑thinking push to deliver an international‑grade beach experience right here in India.
Stretching along Gujarat’s 2,340‑km shoreline, Shivrajpur has long been appreciated for its cleanliness, natural calmness and safe environment. The Blue Flag seal puts it in the company of the world’s best beaches, recognising top‑tier environmental stewardship, safety standards and sustainable, tourist‑friendly amenities.
Developed by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd. (TCGL) with a ₹130‑crore investment, Shivrajpur exemplifies a benchmark coastal development model. The achievement will be highlighted at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot, where the Kutch‑Saurashtra coastal and cultural tourism circuit will unveil a consolidated investment roadmap for the first time.
The beach now boasts a full range of contemporary facilities that greatly enrich the guest experience. Highlights include a sleek arrival plaza, a dedicated snorkelling area, well‑planned cycling paths and a scenic promenade. Crucial infrastructure such as a sludge treatment plant and an 11‑km access road further enhance connectivity and sustainability.
To provide maximum comfort, visitors can enjoy changing and shower rooms, alongside a children’s play zone, cementing Shivrajpur’s status as a family‑friendly coastal destination. Planned attractions like a Beach Festival and themed coastal events aim to position Shivrajpur as an international hotspot for beach‑centric tourism and cultural celebrations.
Meanwhile, the Dwarka‑Okha Urban Development Authority is drafting an integrated tourism plan for Dwarka, Bet Dwarka and Shivrajpur—an initiative expected to turn the entire stretch into a major tourism and investment hub. Leading domestic and international investors, together with key strategic partners, will be invited to explore a wide spectrum of high‑return opportunities across the Kutch‑Saurashtra circuit. These include developing premium coastal resorts in Devbhumi Dwarka, large‑scale water‑sports and adventure projects, as well as eco‑tourism and heritage hospitality ventures woven through the culturally rich Kutch‑Saurashtra belt.
The region also offers promising prospects for forest‑based tourism in the Gir landscape and lively cultural and experiential offerings across the Rann, positioning it as one of India’s most alluring emerging tourism investment destinations.
