Ayodhya – The historic town is preparing for yet another large‑scale event, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive on November 25 to hoist a flag at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Across the city, crews are busy: roads are being cleaned, fresh stop signs are being installed, and sanitation crews are tackling extensive upkeep.
Adorned with posters of the prime minister, the city’s corners buzz with anticipation. A plaque at the Ram Temple’s entrance reads, “Jati Pati Puche Nahi Koi, Hari Ka Bhaje So Hari Ka Hoi,” echoing the devotional spirit that permeates the place.
Festive lights, decorative displays, and upgraded security measures paint a vibrant picture. The event marks another milestone for a town that has transformed remarkably since the Ram Temple’s construction began. Local shopkeepers, residents, and visitors describe the atmosphere as lively, with many looking forward to the prime minister’s arrival.
Security has been ramped up significantly. Every CCTV camera in the area has been switched on, and additional units now guard sensitive points at risk of unauthorised access. The Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) keeps a constant watchful eye, while officers conduct routine patrols.
The Superintendent of Police reports that verification drives are in progress around slum areas and temporary settlements near the border, where residents’ IDs are being checked carefully.
The temple board has announced that this year’s celebrations will be especially grand. Supporting shrines dedicated to Lord Mahadev, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Suryadev, Maa Bhagwati, Maa Annapurna, and Sheshavatar will receive elaborate decorations alongside the main shrine.
A group of 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi, and South India will perform the rituals under the guidance of noted Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri. During the ceremony, a saffron flag emblazoned with the symbol of the Sun—representing eternal energy, divine brilliance, virtue, and enlightenment—will be raised, symbolising Lord Ram himself.
Prime Minister Modi, who presided over the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024, will again lead the rites in the presence of spiritual leaders, dignitaries, and trust members. The trust anticipates about 6,000 invited guests for this historic gathering.
Meanwhile, local merchant shops, transport operators, eateries, and homestays report exploding demand, proclaiming this as one of the busiest periods since the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
