Prepare plan for Gurugram, Faridabad for solid waste disposal: Haryana CM tells officials
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini took a big step towards cleaner cities on Thursday, chairing a high-level meeting in Chandigarh to boost the state’s ongoing cleanliness campaign. The focus? Tackling solid waste management head-on, especially in busy spots like Gurugram and Faridabad.
During the meeting, Saini pushed officials to roll out a detailed action plan for solid waste disposal in these areas. “We need a permanent fix for waste problems,” he stressed, urging the team to use modern technology and scientific methods to make sanitation stronger in both urban and rural Haryana. Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel joined the discussion, which also covered ways to turn the cleanliness drive into a community effort with everyone’s involvement.
A key highlight: Setting up waste-to-energy plants in Faridabad, Manesar, and Gurugram. These plants will convert daily solid waste into electricity, kicking off construction in the coming months and going fully operational within 24 months. Imagine turning trash into power – that’s the goal!
