
Private professional colleges in Telangana are once again warning of an indefinite strike over unpaid fee reimbursement dues from the state government. The Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Education (FATHI) gave the government until October 12 to clear the arrears, or the colleges will shut down starting October 13.
FATHI leaders made this announcement after a key meeting on Wednesday. They represent a range of institutions, including engineering colleges, pharmacy schools, nursing programs, MBA and MCA courses, and B.Ed training centers across Telangana.
This isn’t the first time they’ve pushed back. On September 15, these Telangana colleges launched an indefinite strike to demand the release of fee reimbursement arrears. But they called it off the same day after talks with government officials.
