Nagpur, Dec 11 (LatestNewsX) – Maharashtra’s agriculture chief, Dattatray Bharne, told the Legislative Council on Thursday that every farmer who meets the eligibility criteria will still receive the benefits of the state’s farm schemes, underscoring the government’s commitment to the rural community.
The minister answered a query from MLC Ranjitsinh Mohite Patil about the status of pending funds and subsidies for various farmer programmes in the state. “The administration has always stood by farmers during crises and will keep doing so,” Bharane said. He pledged that the necessary finances for the schemes would be available by March.
Bharane explained that the Agriculture Department first verifies applicants’ paperwork and confirms their eligibility before disbursing any funds, ensuring compliance with each scheme’s criteria. He then announced the allocation of substantial funds for the 2025‑2026 financial year.
Under the Centrally sponsored sub‑Mission on agricultural mechanisation, ₹82.67 million has already been released; the state has earmarked ₹200 crore for its own mechanisation programme. ₹251.41 crore will fund the Prime Minister’s National Agricultural Development Scheme, while ₹100 crore goes to the “Mukhyamantri Shashwat Krishi Sinchan Yojana”. The “Bhausaheb Fundkar Fruit Orchard Planting Scheme” will receive ₹62.70 crore, and ₹31.97 crore will support the “Mukhyamantri Krishi & Anna Prakriya Yojana”. The integrated horticulture development scheme is set to get ₹68.33 crore.
During the Winter Session, a supplementary demand of ₹127.71 crore was requested for the “Bhausaheb Fundkar Fruit Orchard Planting Scheme.” Additionally, a second instalment proposal under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme has been forwarded to the central authorities.
For the Krishi Samruddhi Yojana, the government secured approval for a yearly allocation of ₹5,000 crore over the next five years, totaling ₹25,000 crore for the scheme.
Ashish Jaiswal, State Minister for Agriculture, mentioned that the process of uploading farmer applications for scheme benefits is underway. He assured that approvals will be issued in phases as the applications are finalized, guaranteeing that no qualified farmer is left out.
In another discussion, Bharne addressed concerns raised by Member Vikram Kale about Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth’s (VNMKV, Parbhani) use of development funds without proper authorization. He clarified that the university was supposed to secure approvals from the Executive Council and the Maharashtra State Council of Agricultural Education and Research before proceeding with infrastructure projects.
Because those approvals were missing, a five‑member inquiry committee was set up under the Chairmanship of the Director General of the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER) in Pune. The committee’s findings have already been submitted to the government and forwarded to the Governor.
