At a round‑table session held on Friday, Governor and Chancellor Haribhau Bagde oversaw a comprehensive review of the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurveda University (SRRU) in Jodhpur. He talked about the need to transform the campus into a center of learning that not only advances the nation’s well‑being but also upholds the highest standards of fairness in exams and pushes forward cutting‑edge research.
Bagde urged the university to adopt a fully transparent and secure examination system and to foster research that tackles issues of national importance. He also called for monthly forums where leading scholars could visit the campus and share their insights. In addition, he emphasized the value of a well‑rounded education, pointing out that sports, arts, leadership training and hands‑on learning should all be woven into the student experience. He tasked the administration with upgrading playgrounds, equipment, and creative learning spaces, while also planning more sophisticated sports infrastructure.
The governor encouraged faculty and students to engage with global academic and research networks so that they can gain greater exposure. During his inspection, he also checked on the 363 Khejri saplings that had been planted on campus earlier. He reminded everyone that planting is only the beginning of a long‑term commitment and that the administration must ensure each sapling eventually matures into a healthy tree.
Vice‑Chancellor Prof Govind Sahai Shukla updated the governor on admissions for the 2025‑26 cohort, recent exam outcomes, progress on the New Education Policy 2020, ongoing research projects, and new memoranda of understanding. He noted that students are earning accolades at state, national, and international stages through NSS‑NCC activities, sports, and cultural programs, while the university’s outreach in Ayurveda‑based health and welfare continues actively in the nearby village.
