Bihar polls: PM Modi, HM Shah and Chirag Paswan launch blistering attack on RJD-Cong; pitch ‘Jungle Raj vs Vikas’ (Roundup)

In the run‑up to the Bihar elections, the BJP‑led NDA turned up the heat on the state’s opposition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Lok Janshakti Party chief Chirag Paswan gave a string of rallies across Bihar, smashing what they called the “Jungle Raj” of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress with a sharp “development” message.
A clear narrative on “Jungle Raj vs. Vikas”
At rallies in Sitamarhi and Bettiah, Modi told voters that the first phase of polling had given the opposition a “65‑volt shock.” He said the people of Bihar had chosen progress, not lawlessness. Modi reminded the crowd that, under the RJD’s 15‑year rule, industrial growth stalled, sugar mills were shut, and social order declined. In contrast, the NDA has built roads, railways, airports, ethanol plants and new sugar mills, and investors are returning to the state.
Modi also highlighted the Bihar‑Ayodhya rail link that will connect Sitamarhi to the Ramayana Circuit, calling it a boost for tourism. He urged voters to support projects that turn Bihar’s youth into engineers, doctors and entrepreneurs, not “rangdaars” or criminals.
Amit Shah warns of a return to chaos
In Purnea’s Banmankhi, Shah accused the RJD‑Congress combination of wanting to “protect infiltrators” in the Seemanchal region. He said the opposition seeks to restore “loot, murder, and kidnapping.” Shah promised the NDA would operationalize 25 sugar mills, expand ethanol production and finish the Kosi‑Mechi link project, a flood‑control scheme for the flood‑prone plains.
Chirag Paswan backs the former prime minister’s allies
During his campaign for Lok Janshakti Party radios, Paswan noted that early election trends looked good for the NDA and predicted that former chief minister Mr Nitish Kumar would return to office. He warned that the RJD was focused only on dynastic politics and explained that “M‑Y” stands for “Mahila and Youth.”
Key takeaways for voters
- The BJP‑led NDA is banking on a clean development record – new infrastructure, industrial revival and flood‑control projects.
- The opposition threatens to roll Bihar back into “Jungle Raj,” a slogan the NDA’s leaders condemn as a call for lawlessness and corruption.
- Central leaders are making a personal appeal to young voters, promising an economy that creates jobs and a secure future.
As Bihar moves toward its next election, the focus is clear: is the state ready for rapid growth under the NDA, or will it return to a chaotic past under the RJD‑Congress alliance? The coming results will answer that question.
