Jaipur, Dec 9 (LatestNewsX) – Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has launched the “Non‑resident Rajasthani Day” to bring together Rajasthanis living both in India and abroad. More than 8,700 people have already signed up for the event.
The ceremony that will mark the beginning of investment projects worth ₹1 lakh crore is scheduled for December 10 at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC). During the two‑day program, the new Overseas Rajasthani Policy and other investment‑promotion measures will be announced. The day starts at 10 a.m. with an inaugural address, followed by a discussion with the overseas Rajasthani community and sector‑specific sessions covering industry, energy, water, mining, education, tourism and health.
Industry experts will examine Rajasthan’s growing industrial base and new collaboration opportunities. The “Pravasi Rajasthani Samman” will recognize distinguished expatriates for their outstanding contributions.
The evening will conclude with a lively cultural showcase underscoring Rajasthan’s heritage. Participants will include representatives from 26 Rajasthani chapters: 12 international chapters (Munich, Nairobi, Dubai, Singapore, Doha, Tokyo, Riyadh, Melbourne, Kampala, Kathmandu, London and New York) and 14 domestic chapters (Delhi, Ranchi, Guwahati, Pune, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata and Coimbatore).
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sharma, the state government is systematically converting investment proposals into concrete actions. So far, agreements worth ₹35 lakh crore have been signed under the Rising Rajasthan initiative, with ₹7 lakh crore already materialised. With the December 10 ground‑breaking, the total implemented investment will reach ₹8 lakh crore.
More than ten new policies—including the NRI Rajasthani Policy—will be unveiled to strengthen Rajasthan’s position as a premier global investment destination. A thematic exhibition titled “Progressive Path” will be set up at the venue, featuring displays and video presentations that highlight the state’s development milestones. The exhibition aims to help NRIs recognize the state’s progress as they reconnect with their roots and the vision of “Growing Rajasthan – Our Rajasthan”.
New initiatives to improve communication with the diaspora include the declaration of Pravasi Rajasthani Day, a dedicated department for diaspora welfare, and the implementation of the Pravasi Rajasthani Policy. A single‑point contact system has also been established at the district level, with the Additional District Collector acting as the nodal officer for migrant families.
The event will be attended by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Ministers of Power, Housing, Urban Affairs, Commerce and Industry, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, as well as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Industry and Commerce Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, other ministers, public representatives, and prominent industrialists.
Chief Minister Sharma first announced at the Pravasi Rajasthani Conclave during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit that December 10 would become Pravasi Rajasthani Day. This year marks the inaugural celebration of the initiative, with pre‑events already held in Hyderabad, Surat and Kolkata, including a dedicated tourism pre‑meet.
