Jaipur, Dec 6 (LatestNewsX) – Rajasthan has reached a historic benchmark in its electoral reforms by becoming the first state in India to fully digitise its voter list under the Special Intensive Revision‑2026 (SIR‑2026).
This accomplishment represents a major step forward toward a modern, open, and voter‑friendly election system. In describing the milestone, Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan called it a “collective victory of Team Rajasthan.” He highlighted how Booth Level Officers, supervisors, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, District Election Officers, and field teams from villages to cities worked together with remarkable speed, coordination, and discipline to make the effort a success.
According to Mahajan, more than 97 % of voter mapping is complete, meaning only about three‑percent of voters will need to present documents during the claims and objections window. On average, this equates to roughly 30 voters per polling station who will have to submit paperwork, he added. The precise mapping has streamlined the process, made verification quicker, enhanced transparency at the booth level, and cut down on redundant paperwork.
The Election Department bolstered its systems—including ECINET, the BLO app, portal‑based verification tools, and district helpline services—to guarantee a seamless, secure, and tech‑driven rollout. Clear guidelines were issued and ongoing monitoring was introduced at every operational tier. Mahajan attributed the success to meticulous oversight, teamwork, and technology, singling out the dedication of BLOs and grassroots staff.
Expressing appreciation, he thanked Rajasthan’s voters for their cooperation and awareness during the verification phase. He pointed out that the involvement of senior citizens, people with disabilities, labourers, and remote residents demonstrates the state’s strong democratic values.
The next steps are scheduled as follows: the draft electoral roll is due to be published on December 16, with the final voter list expected by February 14, 2026. Mahajan urged all eligible voters to review their information once the draft appears and to engage actively in the upcoming SIR stages.
