Jaipur – Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced a fresh wave of cash and projects for Rajasthan’s farmers and tribal students during the state Tribal Pride Day festival, which also marked the 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

The ceremony ran at the SBP College grounds in Dungarpur. After a traditional welcome complete with a turban and sword, Sharma paid floral tributes to Munda and then unveiled a plan that will bring new roads, schools and health posts across the state.

He marked the start of 24 projects worth ₹62 crore that will build infrastructure in tribal villages. At the same time, he lit the lamps for 31 projects worth ₹25 crore, aimed at improving access to basic services and boosting local economies.

In Jaipur, Sharma opened a residential batch for 60 tribal girls who will study for the IIT‑JEE, NEET and other national exams at Janjati Bhawan. The CM also handed over ₹4.8 crore to 12,000 tribal students for school uniforms, stationery and essential supplies.

A major highlight was the transfer of ₹204 crore directly into the bank accounts of 53,466 beneficiaries under the state’s agriculture schemes. The money will help farmers buy seeds, fertilizers and other inputs.

Sharma praised tribal communities for preserving nature, culture and traditional harmony for centuries. He said the government would keep protecting tribal heritage while accelerating development.

The CM recalled the key role tribal icons played in India’s independence. He spoke of Sardar Patel’s unification of 562 princely states and the youthful rebel spirit of Birsa Munda, who was only 15 when he sparked a rebellion.

He highlighted other government measures: increased hostel and sports‑academy allowances for tribal students, free maize seed kits for farmers, and the awarding of the Tribal Pride Award to six outstanding students and community leaders.

Tribal Development Minister Babulal Kharari added that the state will continue to deliver basic amenities and new opportunities for tribal communities, ensuring no one is left behind.
