On December 6, Jaipur reported that Rajasthan has become the first state in India to fully digitalise its voter list under the Special Intensive Revision‑2026 (SIR‑2026), a landmark step announced by election officials.
The move signals a major advance toward a modern, transparent, and voter‑friendly electoral system.
Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan called the success a “collective victory of Team Rajasthan.”
He praised the teamwork of Booth Level Officers, supervisors, assistant‑ and senior registration officers, district election officers, and every field crew from rural hamlets to big cities, noting their remarkable coordination, speed, and discipline were the keys to the initiative’s triumph.
Mr Mahajan added that over 97 % of the voter mapping is now finished, so only about three‑percent of voters will need to submit papers during the claims and objections window.
On average, just roughly 30 voters per polling station will be required to produce documentation, he said.
The accurate mapping has made verification simpler, faster, and clearer, cutting down repetitive paperwork and streamlining booth‑by‑booth confirmation.
The Election Department also reinforced its technology backbone, tightening ECINET, the BLO smartphone app, online verification portals, and district call‑center services to keep the process secure and smooth.
Clear guidelines and constant monitoring were introduced at every level of operation.
Mahajan attributed the success to fine‑grained management, collective effort, and technology, singling out the hard‑working BLOs and grassroots staff for extra praise.
He expressed gratitude to Rajasthan’s voters for their cooperation and awareness during the verification phase, and highlighted the participation of seniors, people with disabilities, labourers, and remote‑area residents as proof of the state’s robust democratic spirit.
According to the timetable, the draft electoral roll will be published by December 16, with the final voter list expected on February 14, 2026.
Mahajan urged all eligible voters to check their details once the draft appears and to engage actively in the forthcoming stages of the SIR.
