Rajasthan Boosts Farmer Support with Rs 43.87 Crore Investment in Market Infrastructure

The Rajasthan government has announced a big boost for farmers by approving over Rs 43 crore to improve agricultural markets across the state. This move aims to strengthen the local farming economy and make life easier for farmers selling their crops.

Under this plan, work will be done at 12 major Krishi Upaj Mandi Samitis (agriculture markets) in places like Sojat City, Chohtan, Didwana, Jaitaran, Badi Sadri, Dag, Ajmer (fruit and vegetables), Balotra, Keshoraipatan, Hindaun City, Bhagat Ki Kothi, and Ajmer (grain). The funds will be used over the next three years to upgrade infrastructure such as market yards, storage facilities, and transportation links.

In addition, the government has approved nearly Rs 26 crore to develop markets in Jhalrapatan, Jalore, Sikar, Bikaner (grain markets), Jaipur (grain and vegetables), Muhana, Pugal Road, and Madanganj-Kishangarh in Ajmer. This funding will help build or improve yards, electricity connections, and roads leading to these markets, making it easier for farmers to access and trade their produce.

The officials say this initiative will directly benefit thousands of farmers by providing modern facilities for storing, trading, and selling their crops. With better infrastructure, farmers can reach markets more easily, transportation becomes smoother, and losses during crop handling are reduced.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot emphasized that the government’s goal is to create a better environment for farmers. “Our focus is not just on building infrastructure but on empowering farmers and boosting their income,” he said.

The state government has been working continuously to support farmers through various schemes, including irrigation, crop insurance, and modernizing markets. The new funding will help improve the overall marketing system of agricultural produce in Rajasthan, making it more efficient and farmer-friendly.

This development is expected to bring positive changes in Rajasthan’s farming economy, helping farmers sell their crops more easily and get fair prices, ultimately strengthening the state’s agricultural growth.
