Realise PM Modi’s vision of smart policing, Yogi Adityanath tells UP cops

In Lucknow on December 28, Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged every police officer and staff member to adopt Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Smart Policing” vision as a guiding principle of their daily work. Speaking at the Senior Police Officers Conference titled “Police Manthan‑2025,” he said, “PM Modi has given the nation a vision of smart policing. Strict and Sensitive, Modern and Mobile, Alert and Accountable, Reliable and Responsive, Tech‑Savvy and Trained… Every police officer and every personnel should make it the mantra of their life.”

The CM lauded the Uttar Pradesh Police for upholding the rule of law, noting that the state’s large population now enjoys a greater sense of security than in the past. “We need to update ourselves to continue upholding this rule of law and face future challenges,” he added.

He emphasized that the two‑day conference would be instrumental in realizing PM Modi’s “Smart Policing” and the broader “Vision 2047‑Developed and Self‑Re‑A‑tive India” goals. “What kind of modern, sensitive, and effective police system is needed? In this direction, the roadmap prepared over the last two days is of utmost importance,” the CM said, proposing that the event become an annual, permanent platform.

According to Adityanath, the contribution of approximately 55 speakers across 11 sessions will mark a milestone in transforming the Uttar Pradesh Police into a more modern, tech‑enabled, and trust‑based force. He applauded the Director General of Police and all police personnel who participated, and presented the “Chief Minister Excellence Award” to distinguished officers.

The CM highlighted other initiatives underway, including equipping women beat officers linked to “Mission Shakti” with scooters to accelerate the program’s reach—a “need of the hour,” he remarked. He also mentioned ongoing infrastructure upgrades, such as replacing barracks with high‑rise buildings in several districts, and resolving long‑delayed police line constructions in 10 districts. Additionally, funds were secured and provisional armed constabulary (PAC) battalions—among them women‑only units—were reconstituted.
