New Delhi, Nov 16 – BJP officials fired a sharp rebuke at the Lalu Prasad Yadav family, calling their internal drama “patriarchal, anti‑woman and male‑dominated.”
At a party rally, Amit Malviya, who leads the BJP’s National Information and Technology Department, mocked the feud that has split the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He singled out Rohini Acharya, Lalu’s daughter, for saying she donated a kidney to her father and was later denied the same respect his son Tejashwi Yadav received.
“Rohini gave a kidney to Lalu without thinking of her own health, yet Lalu favoured Tejashwi over her honour,” Malviya said on the X platform. “Now she claims she was even beaten with slippers in the family. This shows the family’s sexist and male‑dominated mindset, and it is unacceptable to expect respect for women from them.”
The BJP also attacked the RJD–Congress alliance that fell apart after the Bihar Assembly elections. Malviya labeled the coalition a “stitch‑up built on corruption and self‑interest.” He praised voters for choosing the NDA, saying the people of Bihar opted for stability, development and integrity.
In the fallout, Rohini announced she would quit politics and distance herself from the family, blaming Tejashwi Yadav’s aide Sanjay Yadav for pressuring her. Malviya added that senior Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad had accused Rahul Gandhi’s Bihar point‑man Krishna Allavaru of disrespecting senior leaders and of selling party tickets for cash—claims that had surfaced during earlier ticket distribution.
The BJP’s criticism comes as the party gears up for the next state election, still defending its win and framing the defeat of the Mahagathbandhan as a result of opportunistic politics.
