Prasidh Krishna reflects on unforgettable England tour, says ‘It will stay with me forever’

Prasidh Krishna Reflects on Memorable England Cricket Series and His Big Match Moments

Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna recently shared his thoughts on India’s thrilling 2-2 cricket series in England, describing it as one of the most intense and unforgettable experiences of his career. The summer series was filled with high emotions, tough battles, and big moments that will stay with him forever.

Prasidh played a key role in the final Test at The Oval, where his impressive bowling helped India secure a narrow six-run win. He bowled a total of 43 overs, taking 8 wickets for 188 runs in the match. Expressing how demanding the workload was, he admitted it left him physically exhausted. “It took a lot out of me,” he said. “It took about a week to fully recover.” After the series, he took some time off and then returned to cricket, feeling good to be back with his teammates and younger players in his home state of Karnataka.

Before returning to training in Bengaluru, Prasidh enjoyed a short break. He shared that even during his rest days, he felt sore from the tough last Test and the three grueling days of the series. “I decided to take it easy,” he said. “My wife went hiking, but I stayed back and let my body recover.”

One of the biggest moments for Prasidh came during the final day at The Oval. England was close to chasing down the target, but his two crucial wickets late in the day changed everything. He recalled planning his first ball to be a bouncer, which went for a boundary but gave him valuable insight into the pitch. His second delivery edged the bat for a dismissal. Despite some early runs from the first two balls, he stayed calm and focused. “I knew I had to bowl in the right areas,” he said.

Prasidh credited teammate Mohammed Siraj for applying pressure from the other end. “Siraj was swing-balling well, which helped me stay focused,” he added. The turning point came when he dismissed England’s Jamie Smith. That wicket shifted the momentum toward India, and from there, the team stayed disciplined until they took the final wicket.

When India finally won, the victory was a mix of relief and joy. “Everyone was shouting and celebrating; it felt incredible,” said Prasidh. The emotions were overwhelming, and he says the memory of that electric atmosphere will stay with him forever. “Watching the game from outside doesn’t compare to being out there. The feeling and the excitement are unforgettable.”

Prasidh also shared a funny incident with England captain Joe Root during the match. He said he complimented Root on his fitness, which led to a humorous exchange. “Root thought I was criticizing him,” he laughed. “We cleared it up, and he explained he was just trying to pump himself up too. That’s the spirit of the game—fighting hard and pushing each other.”

Reflecting on the entire series, Prasidh compared it to a dramatic TV show, full of ups and downs. “We didn’t expect it to go like that,” he said. “It was exciting to see the series end at 2-2. Overall, I’m really proud of how we played and fought through the challenges.”

For Prasidh Krishna, this summer in England was a rollercoaster of emotions, intense cricket, and unforgettable moments that will inspire him for years to come.
