White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt expecting baby girl in May 2026

White House press secretary announces second pregnancy
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared that she and her husband are expecting their second child in May 2026. In a recent Instagram post, she described the news as the “greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for.” She added, “My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother,” and continued, “My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth.”
Leavitt, 28, welcomed her first son, Niko, with husband Nicholas Riccio, 60, on July 10, 2024. The New Hampshire native, who is known for her frequent television appearances and sharp briefings, has become the United States’ first pregnant press secretary.
Prior to her current role, Leavitt worked behind the scenes in President Donald Trump’s administration and ran for Congress in 2022. She is a close adviser to the president, who recently praised her backstage with the Hungarian Prime Minister as “our great Karoline superstar.”
While the position of press secretary is one of the most demanding in Washington, several other recent officeholders have balanced motherhood and the job. Former Presidents Biden’s Jen Psaki and Karine Jean‑Pierre are both mothers, and Kayleigh McEnany gave birth to her daughter Blake just a few months before starting her tenure in Trump’s first term.
