Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary Slams Mahagathbandhan Over Insults to Bihar and India’s Heritage

In a fiery speech in Patna today, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary didn’t hold back as he targeted the Mahagathbandhan alliance. He accused them of constantly insulting Bihar and staying mum on major national issues that matter to every Indian.

Talking to reporters, Choudhary pointed out how the opposition keeps belittling Bihar. "They link Bihar to cheap bidi smoking one day, and the next, they hurl abuses at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother. And now, with the shocking attack on the Ashoka Pillar in Kashmir, Congress and RJD are completely silent. Bihar won’t stand for any disrespect to its rich heritage or India’s pride," he declared.

Choudhary strongly condemned the alleged vandalism of the Ashoka Pillar, which he sees as a direct hit on Emperor Ashoka’s legacy from ancient Magadh—right in Bihar’s heartland. "This isn’t some small matter; it’s a grave assault on India’s glorious history. Lalu Yadav and the Grand Alliance are brushing it off like it’s nothing. We’re taking strict action against those responsible, in talks with the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir," he added.

He went on to slam the opposition’s "selective silence" on anything that touches Bihar’s honor or India’s dignity. "When someone abused PM Modi’s mother, the opposition leader and Mahagathbandhan didn’t even condemn it or say sorry. This shows their true colors—they treat Biharis like lowly laborers or untouchables," Choudhary charged.

Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Deputy CM mocked his recent Bihar visit. "This 55-year-old ‘Yuvraj’ zipped around on our top-notch world-class roads but couldn’t spot all the development happening here. He did his Voter Adhikar Yatra drama and then jetted off to Malaysia," he quipped.

Choudhary also laughed off RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s boast of being the "real CM." "Tejashwi acts like a kid thrilled with a new toy just by calling himself CM. The true Chief Minister is the one with the people’s blessings and support from 122 MLAs," he said, clearly referring to Bihar’s current leadership.

When it came to the opposition’s push for Bharat Ratna for RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav—who’s convicted in the infamous fodder scam—Choudhary hit back hard. "Demanding India’s highest civilian honor for the face of jungle raj and corruption? That’s ridiculous! The real champion of social justice was Karpoori Thakur, who fought for reservations for backward classes. The Narendra Modi government rightly gave him Bharat Ratna—something Congress never bothered to do during their rule," he emphasized.

He painted the Lalu family as the epitome of chaos, loot, murder, and corruption in Bihar politics. Choudhary questioned why Lalu, during his 15 years in power, never punished those behind the murder of socialist leader Jagdev Prasad.

In another sharp remark, he called the meeting between INDIA alliance’s vice-presidential candidate B. Sudarshan Reddy and Lalu Yadav a slap to democracy. "Hanging out with a convicted leader stains our constitutional values. It just shows the alliance’s total mental bankruptcy," Choudhary concluded.

This outburst from Choudhary highlights the ongoing political tussle in Bihar, where issues like heritage protection, corruption allegations, and Bharat Ratna debates keep fueling the rivalry between the ruling NDA and opposition Mahagathbandhan. As Bihar gears up for future elections, these attacks could stir up more heat in the state’s dynamic political scene.
